As far as pizza goes La Villa is number one, Ginos is number two and New Park is number three. I live in Richmond Hill and often travel to Howard Beach just for the pizza. After having pizza at these three pizzerias I no longer go to any Pizzerias on Jamaica Avenue or Liberty Avenue even though they are nearer to my home. Carl

I can't remember the name but I think it was Nick's Pizzaria near the A Train station. They had the best meatball heros'. Very few of us could eat one without coming out wearing some on our shirts or ties. What I would give for one of those today. I remember going to lunch there fro OLG in the late 50's and early 60's.

As far as I remember New Park was tops! (that was in '76 when we moved to Fla.)I'm sure they'd ALL beat the garbage they try to pass for pizza in Miami.

JOES PIZZA AND RESTAURANT IS THE TRUE BEST PIZZERIA ON THE BOULEVARD. IT'S NOT ABOUT COMPETITION, IT'S ABOUT THE BEST FOOD, SO IT'S NO CONTEST. CHARLIE AND ALEX, CONGRATULATIONS ON THE NEW RESTAURANT. BESIDES THE EXCELLENT FOOD, IT'S THE HOT SPOT OF THE BOULEVARD.

I'd like to say that I've been out of Howard Beach for 32 years now but I'm sure that New Park was the best for Neopolitan pizza and the best Sicilian pizza ever was enjoyed only at Pizza City. They had a way of making the topping go into the top portion of the dough instead of just laying directly on top of it. Any other Sicilian pizza has the cheese and sauce just laying on top and you can lift the whole topping off with one pull, leaving you with a bare piece of dough in your hand. The edges of Pizza City's Sicilian pizza were very dark, almost burned but not quite, giving it a wonderful taste. Just perfect! A perfect sandwich was the roast beef sub at The Big Bow Wow. It was so delicious! It's a shame that those places are gone. For high quality Italian pastry, the best was Sevaroli's. Does anyone remember that? It was not in HB, but in Cityline. Those days are long gone!

Don't remember Cityline, but definitely agree with you on both pizzas. I remember that when New Park opened, pizza was $.15 a slice and whenever we got a pie to go my father would always
