My Husband and I lived in Howard Beach for over 35 years, married in OLG, our son christened in OLG, and on 8/2/08 Kevins funeral mass was at OLG. Kevin had spent over 33 in the West Hamilton Beach Volunteer Fire Dept, 12 of them as Chief., as well as 15 years in the FDNY. We lost Kevin at the age of 54 to cancer brought on by the toxins and burning benzene at the World Trade Center on 9/11. Kevin loved Howard Beach, our family stills lives there along with our dearest friends. Howard Beach wil always be HOME. I personally want to Thank Our Family at WHBFD for the beautiful sendoff  they gave Kevin along with all our friends and neighbors. Everyone shows such deep respect and love, my son and I will be eternally grateful.
