Memories
I was born in 1960 into a house on 90th st at 156th ave. When I was 4 we moved to a new house on 96th and 162nd and stayed there until I married and moved. Some of my fond memories include Joe`s candy store on Crossbay and 158th. I remember the man who owned the store as Cliff. Don`t know how Cliff = Joes`s. One of my childhood mysteries. Another place on Crossbay that brings back memories is a pancake joint named Big Daddy`s. It was right on the canal I believe were Russo`s sits now. It was nice to eat breakfast there as a kid and stare at the water and the boats. Fond memories they are. Bill Caravello

Memories
We moved to HB in 1955, we lived at 161-45 96 St., sounds like we might have been neighbors. I worked for American Express, they reloacated to Plantation, FL in 1976 and I moved to Coral Springs. I lived just north of Atlantic Blvd, first left turn off University Dr, then the first left my house was on the south side just past the bend. Mine was only the third house built on this little wrap around road, the area was just starting to develop, there was nothing but "woods" behind me, now it looks like there's a mall.

I lived at 162-14 96 st. I t was the second house on the right. My house was distinguished by the swan statue on the front lawn. I now live in the Ramblewood section of Coral Springs.

Memories
I lived on NW 100 Ave in Coral Springs, right off Ramblewood Drive, house had a faux red brick elevation. Sounds like we were neighbors twice a thousand miles apart. Don't remember the house with the swan, but front lawn statues weren't that unique in Queens & Brooklyn. Funny, we never had one when I lived in NYC, now that I'm in Alexandria, VA, we have a madonna in the back yard (my wife is from New Orleans).

Riverside and Royal Palm, haha, Ramblewood. I remember these places in Coral Springs. Wherever you are, you must admit the best supermarket ever is Publix. No one can compare with their stores. I remember American Express in Plantation, on University. Wasn't it across from a Holiday Inn? Joe's candy store on Crossbay was on the same block as Mel's kosher meats, no? That Big Daddy's place in HB, was that before the bowling alley, going down Crossbay Blvd. heading toward the Casino Park? I think that might be the place I remember having silver dollar pancakes. In FL "Big Daddy's" has a whole other meaning, haha.

Re: Memories

OK, Cliff and his wife passed away a very long time ago as did their youngest daughter Jo Jo.  I don't know what happened to the other 2 daughters, Susan and Cathy.
