| Does anyone remember them? Do you remember where they practiced most? |

| I remember Johnny Vetere, Art Riccio, Bobby Pomerico and Jimmy Murray had a group, the name escapes me. |

| I know all of them and none of them could sing, haha! I'm sure their group was very short lived. Did you know Vinny Tilotta? |

| I agree that none of them could sing, but in those days, all you needed to do to become a group was to lean towards each other and go hmmm. I knew a couple of Vinny's, my memory of Tilotta is that he moved to HB about the same time Joe Grillo did and was about a year younger than me. I also remember a guy whose father was a body builder and an artist, was that the Vinny you're referring to? |

| I think his father was a cartoonist. Used to drive around advertising with a van, sometimes for politicians. He was a very nice guy. Vinny's mother was a great person too, very warm to all the kids. Vinny's father was always with his sons and their friends, very close. Vinny had a younger brother too. I used to call him Snitch, long story "why". Very nice family. |

| Always hear about this Joe Grillo. Name sounds familiar to me but can't picture his face. I think he was a friend of my cousin Mike. |

| Joe Grillo lived on 98 St between 160 & 161 Aves, roughly half a block from your cousin Mike. Hard to describe Joe, he was a bit of a joker, always happy and easy going, I'm sure Mike knew him and he wasn't a guy one would forget. |

| I sang with Tony Dimeglio, Brian Craine, Al Nappi and Jimmy Murray. The group was called "The Harmonaires". My father was a printer and he made business cards for us. I wish I had one of them left. Tony passed away, Brian still lives in HB, Al also lives in HB and Jimmy is in Fl. Jimmy Tillota lives in Fl. and I know Mike Arnone just visited him and Ronnie Williams down here (I live in Venice,Fl). I was suppposed to hook up with them, however, Tillota could not get away. We will try again in 6 months when Mike comes down again.
I did continue to sing in Fl. I met 4 other guys from NYC down here and we formed a group called NYCD (New York City Doo-Wop). We have a CD called "Echoes of Acappella" available at A-cappella.com. I sure remember the talent shows at the "itch" movie house and singing in Vito's hallway next to Heller's. Those were some great times. The music was and still is the best.
I remember Mr.Tillota knew Nick Santamaria from the Capris and Nick came down to listen to us sing in the Tillota's basement. My group opened for the Capris at a show in Naples, Fl. about 1999 or so. Nick is recovering from some form of cancer of the lungs. He is hopeful of a full recovery and returning to the stage. |
