The bowling alley, Cross Bay Lanes, was on 157th, just across from New Park. It's now Gold's gym. Don't remember why it closed.

Seems funny to hear someone say it wasn't very modern. When I was about 16, it was the most modern place around, haha!

Spent many Saturdays at Crossbay Lanes. Always saved 25 cents and went acroos the street to New Park afterwards for a slice and a soda. Yep, both for a quarter.

I do remember Dennis, when a slice was 15 cents and the neon sign on top of the building said so. I don't remember the soda being a dime. I guess it was.

In the late 70's we would bowl for hours. $3.00 would get you shoes & what seemed 3 hours of bowling. The bowling alley was great! Two floors, no waiting. We would always use the upstairs lanes. Its a shame it did'nt survive.
