There's so much talk about new Howard on this site as far as the stores go, (Crossbay Blvd.) Not too much talk about the businesses on the old side. How about Levine's grocery and Block Island deli? How about Pat the butcher on the same block as the Howard Theater? No one ever talks about Pat. Most only know Sal's which came later.

I remember the Block Island Deli on the corner by the Howard Theatre, it was across from the A&P. Do you remember the tall thin guy with a moustache who managed the A&P?, hard to believe that we thought of that little store as a Super Market, what is there now?
