After looking at the ratings for Howard Beach's restaurants, it still appears that with all the new ones, Lenny's is still rated the highest. It was great when it first opened and I guess is still great now. Last time I was at Danny's, (formerly China Wall), the food was very good but the service was terrible. Much too attentive, didn't leave you alone to eat your meal. Rushing you all the way! Couldn't put your fork down for one minute, it would be cleared away. Waiter stood directly behind one chair at the table, waiting for you to finish. Very annoying. Would not dine there again. Left a two cent tip for four people, just to make a statment, otherwise would have left nothing at all. The chef was educated, the wait staff was not.

I have to agree with the service in Danny's - last time I was there was the same as the previous visit a year earlier with NO change. The service staff was rediculously unprofessional. I have had a different experience than the one posted above regarding the attention of the staff. With most of my visits, I've been left completely ignored unless I flagged someone down. Now I'm not an ugly nor a stinky person, so I was very insulted. Attitudes, long long waits, cold unheated sections near the windows, too bright, noisy, and too open of an atmosphere for me to enjoy my subpar food. Don't get me wrong. Danny is nice guy but major changes need to be made. Especially to the upstairs Japanese section. Edited by - techguy on December 21 2004 2:06:56 PM
