Ice skating/ skitching in HB 
Does anyone know if kids still ice skate on the canals in the winter?? I remember in the late 70's skating all over the canals & across most of the bay. One year someone (forget who) drove a VW bug across the canal from Casino park into Hamilton. Another favorite winter sport was "skitching" on back of cars & buses when the ground was snow covered. The "Hayes" cabs had the best bumpers & were a sure ride back to town from the park.

Ice skating/ skitching in HB 
Hi; I have not seen the canals frozen over in years. I rember some kid on a Honda z50 mini bike riding on it behind the fire house on Cross bay blvd. Havent seen kids skiching. Look out for the sewer covers. Edited by - Joe Mig on January 31 2007 5:06:33 PM

Ice skating/ skitching in HB 
Must be global warming....Wow, I remember the manhole covers..hit & dry one & you wiped out for sure. The Q11 was great to skitch behind. I think we had a dozen of us on the back & went all over HB.. Times sure have changed.
